Johia Lucban's 10th Year Anniversary
Johia-Lucban Celabrate its 10th year anniversary w/ the theme: "INCREASE in God's Favor."

SOFT TOUCH (A short story)
My dad was the original soft touch to those who were hungry. He was an evangelist who journeyed from place to place to hold revival meetings. Travel was expensive and we never seemed to have much more money than was absolutely necessary. One of the problems was the way churches paid their ministers in those days. Pastors received a year-round salary but evangelists were paid only when they worked. Therefore, my father's income stopped abruptly during Thanksgiving, Christmas, summer vacation, or any time he rested.

WHAT IS A GRANDMOTHER? – Letter from a Third Grader
A grandmother is a lady who has no children of her own. She likes other people’s little girls and boys. A grandfather is a man grandmother. He goes for walks with the boys, and they talk about fishing and stuff like that.
Grandmothers don’t have to do anything except to be there. They’re so old that they shouldn’t play hard and run. It is enough if they drive us to the market where the pretend horse is, and have lots of dimes ready. Or if they take us for walks, they should slow down past things like pretty leaves and caterpillars. They should never say “hurry up”.

Letter to a Coach
Dear Coach,
I just read your letter to my son and us (the parents) telling of your expectations for athletes under your tutelage. Johnny's mother and I couldn't agree more as we have long recognized the values deriving from high school athletics.
Judging from your record you must teach the game very well. That is important.
There is another phase of coaching, I believe, that is even more important. Permit me to explain what I mean.

Victims of Ondoy served at the JOHIA medical outeach last Saturday at Banaba, San Mateo
Lord,
Make me an instrument of Thy peace.
Where there is hatred,
Let us sow love;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is sadness, joy;
Where there is darkness, light.
O Divine Master, grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled,
As to console;
Not so much to be loved,
as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
It is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
- Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

A POSITIVELY GREAT NIGHT in JOHIA
The second part of the anniversary celebration of JOHIA last August 30, 2009 was the evangelistic concert POSITIBO. The concept of the event was to be able to welcome the community in church, which was impossible in other circumstances, and get them involved in the event. Sure enough, our efforts in the Marathon Walks paid off because the turn out was good.

Our name's Jesus Our Hope International Assemblies, our members & friends call us JOHIA. We are a church located at the busy Cubao area neighboring Gateway & Isetann in Aurora. We welcome strangers. We welcome our financially challenged 'streetmates,' the sick, the brokenhearted, both the abnormal & normal, well practically everyone!!! Our church definitely experienced the Love of God firsthand, that itself is the inspiration in our stories, in our music. We are crazy, passionately, definitely, in Love with Jesus..and we want the world to know that in Christ there will always be HOPE.
